Before you jump to South Indian cuisine platter(dosa, sambar, chutney, potato veggie) recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Guidelines For Living Green And Saving Money In The Kitchen.

Remember when the only individuals who cared about the ecosystem were tree huggers and hippies? Those days are over, and it looks like we all comprehend our role in stopping and perhaps reversing the damage being done to our planet. Unless everyone begins to start living much more environmentally friendly we won’t be able to fix the problems of the environment. This should happen soon and living in methods more friendly to the environment should become an objective for every individual family. Read on for some ways to go green and save energy, generally in the kitchen.

Let’s begin with something really easy, changing the light bulbs. Do this for the whole house, not only the kitchen. The normal light bulbs are the incandescent type, which really should be replaced with compact fluorescent lightbulbs, which save energy. They cost somewhat more at first, but they last ten times longer, and use less electricity. One of the pluses is that for every one of these lightbulbs used, it means that approximately ten normal lightbulbs less will end up at a landfill site. It goes further than just exchanging the lights, though; turning off lights that aren’t needed is definitely another good thing to do. The kitchen lights in particular are often left on the whole day, just because the family tends to spend a lot of time there. Obviously this also happens in different rooms, not just the kitchen. Make a practice of having the lights on only when they are required, and you’ll be amazed at the amount of electricity you save.

From the above it ought to be obvious that just in the kitchen, by itself, there are many little opportunities for saving energy and money. Green living is actually something we can all do, without difficulty. Largely, all it will take is a little bit of common sense.
